मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर धामी के विशेष प्रयासों पर उत्तरप्रदेश सरकार द्वारा जनपद हरिद्वार में उत्तरप्रदेश, सिंचाई विभाग के अधीन भूमि को माँ गंगा स्वच्छ्ता व निर्मलता हेतु अत्यधिक महत्वपूर्ण KfWपरियोजना में प्रस्तावित सीवेज पम्पिंग स्टेशनों के निर्माण हेतु रू 1.00 वार्षिक लीज रेन्ट पर देने के लिए सहमति प्रदान की है, जोकि काफी समय से लम्बित थी।
गौरतलब है कि गंगा नदी के पानी की गुणवत्ता में सुधार हेतु ‘‘गंगा बेसिन राज्यो में पर्यावरणीय अनुकूल नगर विकास कार्यक्रम‘‘ के अन्तर्गत उत्तराखण्ड राज्य के हरिद्वार एवं ऋषिकेश नगरों में सीवर नेटवर्क को सुदृढ़ किये जाने हेतु KfW विकास बैंक द्वारा वित्त पोषित 120 मिलियन यूरो की KfW परियोजना क्रियान्वित की जा रही हैं। परियोजना का कार्य जल्द ही धरातल पर प्रारम्भ होने वाला है। परियोजनान्तर्गत पैकेज 01 (हरिद्वार) एवं पैकेज 05 (ऋषिकेश) हेतु निविदाएं आमंत्रित कर दी गयी हैं। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर धामी द्वारा परियोजना की निरन्तर समीक्षाएं एवं परियोजना के सम्बन्ध में अधिकारियों को निर्देशित किया जा रहा है।
मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर धामी की पहल पर ही उत्तरप्रदेश सरकार द्वारा परियोजनान्तर्गत प्रस्तावित बैरागी कैम्प (ज्ञान गौशाला के निकट) 0.3 एम. एल. डी. सीवेज पम्पिंग स्टेशन (एस. पी. एस) के निर्माण हेतु 500 वर्ग मीटर भूमि एवं सूखी नदी (रानीपुर रौ के रपटे के निकट ) 12.4 एम. एल. डी. सीवेज पम्पिंग स्टेशन (एस. पी. एस) के निर्माण हेतु 500 वर्गमीटर भूमि जो कि उत्तरप्रदेश, सिंचाई विभाग के अधीन है, उत्तराखंड सरकार को रू 1.00 वार्षिक लीज रेन्ट पर उपलब्ध कराए जाने की सहमति प्रदान की गई है।
