सूबे के कैबिनेट मंत्री डॉ धन सिंह रावत ने आज पौड़ी के घीड़ी गांव में मेजर डोभाल स्मृति पार्क का विधिवत शिलान्यास किया। यह पार्क देश के राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार अजीत डोभाल के पिता स्वर्गीय मेजर गुणानंद डोभाल की स्मृति में बनाया जाएगा गया है।

कैबिनेट मंत्री डॉ रावत ने कहा कि यह स्मृति पार्क केवल एक हरित स्थल नहीं, बल्कि राष्ट्रभक्ति, बलिदान और प्रेरणा का जीवंत प्रतीक बनेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि यह वही भूमि है, जिसने देश को अजीत डोभाल जैसा राष्ट्ररक्षक दिया। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि यह पार्क समूचे उत्तराखंड और भारतवर्ष का गौरव बनेगा।

 

स्मृति पार्क के निर्माण और संरक्षण की जिम्मेदारी 127 इन्फेंट्री बटालियन की इकोलॉजिकल टास्क फोर्स को सौंपी गयी है।

टास्क फोर्स के नेतृत्व में आज लगभग 2 हजार फलदार, औषधीय और सुगंधित पौधे भी रोपे गये। कमांडिंग ऑफिसर कर्नल प्रत्तुल थपलियाल ने कहा कि यह पार्क करीब 8 हेक्टेयर क्षेत्रफल में विकसित किया जा रहा है, जिसमें स्थानीय जलवायु के अनुकूल पौधों के माध्यम से हरित सौंदर्य और जैव विविधता को संरक्षित किया जाएगा।

इस अवसर पर गांव और आसपास के क्षेत्रों से बड़ी संख्या में ग्रामीण पुरुषों, महिलाओं, युवाओं और पूर्व सैनिकों की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति रही। सूबेदार मेजर रघुवीर सिंह सहित पूर्व सैनिकों ने कार्यक्रम में भाग लेकर स्मृति स्थल को नमन किया।
