मुख्यमंत्री ने स्वागत और सम्मान प्रकट किए जाने पर उपस्थित जनप्रतिनिधियों व किसानों का आभार व्यक्त किया। उन्होने कहा कि सरकार किसानों के हित में समर्पित है और किसानों की आय बढ़ाने व उनकी फसलों का उचित मूल्य सुनिश्चित करने के लिए निरंतर कार्य कर रही है। किसानों की मांगों व भावना के अनुरूप गन्ने का समर्थन मूल्य ऐतिहासिक रूप से ₹405 प्रति क्विंटल तय किया गया है — जो पूर्व की तुलना में ₹30 अधिक है।

मुख्यमंत्री ने स्पष्ट किया कि प्रदेश की प्राथमिकता है कि चीनी मिलों द्वारा किसानों को उनकी उपज का समय पर भुगतान सुनिश्चित हो। जहाँ कहीं भी भुगतान या क्रय में कमी प्रतीत होती है, उसे तुरंत ठीक करने का निर्देश दिया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि केंद्र सरकार व राज्य सरकार मिलकर किसान हितकारी नीतियों — जैसे किसान सम्मान निधि, समर्थन मूल्य निर्धारण और समय पर भुगतान — के माध्यम से किसान की आय बढ़ाने पर कार्य कर रही हैं।

उन्होंने लक्सर क्षेत्र के गंगदासपुर की सड़क ऊँची करने की घोषणा भी की। साथ ही उन्होंने कहा कि इकबालपुर एवं सितारगंज के बंद चीनी मिलों के कारण हुई समस्याओं के निराकरण के लिए राज्य सरकार कदम उठा रही है और प्रभावित किसानों को शीघ्र राहत उपलब्ध कराई जाएगी।

 

प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष स्वामी यतीश्वरानंद के नेतृत्व में भारी संख्या में आए जनपद के किसानों ने मुख्यमंत्री का स्वागत किया। इस अवसर पर स्वामी यतीश्वरानंद ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री के कार्यकाल में किसान हित के संवर्धन हेतु अनेक सार्थक कदम उठाए जा रहे हैं और गन्ने के भाव में यह ऐतिहासिक वृद्धि किसानों के हित में एक महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय है।
