उत्तराखंड सरकार के कैबिनेट मंत्री एवं नरेंद्रनगर विधायक माननीय सुबोध उनियाल आज पोखरी क्षेत्र के कंडारी गाँव पहुँचे, जहाँ उन्होंने भोपाल (मध्यप्रदेश) में प्रशिक्षण के दौरान देश सेवा में शहीद हुए सैनिक विजय सिंह गुसांई जी के परिजनों से भेंट कर गहरी संवेदना एवं सांत्वना व्यक्त की।

उन्होंने शहीद की माता  कमली देवी, पत्नी  पूजा गुसांई, भाई बिक्रम सिंह गुसांई तथा बहनों से मिलकर कहा कि देश की रक्षा में बलिदान देने वाले सैनिकों को राष्ट्र कभी नहीं भूलता — विजय सिंह गुसांई जी का यह बलिदान इतिहास में सदैव अमर रहेगा।

 

कैबिनेट मंत्री उनियाल ने घोषणा की कि शहीद के नाम पर गाँव में एक सड़क “शहीद विजय सिंह गुसांई मार्ग” के नाम से स्वीकृत कराई जाएगी, जिसके लिए विधायक निधि से ₹10 लाख की राशि स्वीकृत की गई है। साथ ही, उन्होंने शहीद की स्मृति में मूर्ति निर्माण हेतु सहयोग देने की भी घोषणा की। उन्होंने परिजनों को आश्वस्त किया कि राज्य सरकार हर परिस्थिति में परिवार के साथ खड़ी रहेगी और हर संभव सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी।

इस अवसर पर शहीद की पत्नी  पूजा गुसांई ने भावुक होते हुए कहा कि उन्हें अपने पति पर गर्व है जिन्होंने देश सेवा में अपने प्राण अर्पित किए। उन्होंने बताया कि उनके दो बेटे हैं – अर्नव (7 वर्ष) और दूसरा पुत्र (4 वर्ष) – और वे चाहती हैं कि उनके बच्चे भी भविष्य में देश की सेवा करें। मंत्री उनियाल ने बताया कि वे अंतिम संस्कार में सम्मिलित होना चाहते थे, किंतु शासकीय व्यस्तताओं के कारण उपस्थित नहीं हो सके।

 

बाद में पोखरी बाजार में आयोजित श्रद्धांजलि सभा में कैबिनेट मंत्री श्री सुबोध उनियाल, जनप्रतिनिधियों और स्थानीय नागरिकों ने शहीद विजय सिंह गुसांई जी के चित्र पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित कर उन्हें भावभीनी श्रद्धांजलि दी। सभा के अंत में दो मिनट का मौन रखकर दिवंगत आत्मा की शांति हेतु प्रार्थना की गई।
