नर बाघ ने बाघिन के दो मासूम शावकों को मौत के घाट उतारा

रामनगर, । कॉर्बेट टाइगर रिज़र्व के कालागढ़ रेंज के घने जंगलों में एक नर बाघ ने बाघिन के दो मासूम शावकों को मौत के घाट उतार दिया। गश्त के दौरान वन विभाग की टीम को दोनों शावकों के क्षत-विक्षत शव जंगल के मैग्ज़ीन स्रोत क्षेत्र से बरामद हुए।
वन विभाग की टीम कालागढ़ रेंज के लक्कड़घाट बीट, कक्ष संख्या एक में नियमित गश्त पर थी। तब उन्हें मैग्ज़ीन स्रोत क्षेत्र के पास एक बाघ के शावक का शव दिखा। शावक का शरीर काफी सड़ी-गली अवस्था में था। उसके सभी अंग-दांत, नाखून, खाल और हड्डियां-झाड़ियों में बिखरे हुए मिले। टीम जब क्षेत्र में और आगे बढ़ी तो उसी स्रोत के दूसरे छोर पर दूसरा शव भी बरामद किया गया। जिसकी स्थिति भी पहली जैसी ही थी।
मौके पर मौजूद वन कर्मियों ने तुरंत इसकी सूचना उच्च अधिकारियों को दी। जिसके बाद घटनास्थल के आसपास के इलाके में सघन गश्त और कांबिंग अभियान चलाया गया। पूरे क्षेत्र की गहनता से तलाशी ली गई। लेकिन किसी तरह की संदिग्ध मानवीय गतिविधि या शिकारी की उपस्थिति नहीं मिली। हालांकि, घटनास्थल के आसपास एक वयस्क बाघ के ताज़ा पगचिन्ह और उपस्थिति के संकेत मिले। जिससे प्रथम दृष्टया यह माना जा रहा है कि यह हमला किसी नर बाघ ने किया है। यह व्यवहार टाइगर टेरिटरी के संघर्ष का हिस्सा हो सकता है। जिसमें नर बाघ प्रायः दूसरे नर के संभावित उत्तराधिकारियों (यानी शावकों) को मार डालता है।
वन्यजीव विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार, यह घटना दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण जरूर है लेकिन प्रकृति के नियमों के अनुरूप भी है। अक्सर नर बाघ किसी क्षेत्र पर अधिकार जताने के लिए पहले से मौजूद बाघिन के शावकों को मार देता है। ताकि बाघिन दोबारा गर्भधारण कर सके और उसका साथी बन सके।
